Prostitution is one of the most controversial subjects in the United States. There are many pros and cons to this subject. Should prostitution be legalized? Or should it stay illegal with no chance of becoming decriminalized? Some researchers confirm that prostitution is indeed the most ancient profession, while others argue with it; however, everybody agrees that trading sex for money has existed for quite a while. Prostitution is still a part of modern society. The fact speaks for itself, as there will always be a demand for the services that it provides, prostitution will exist in some form no matter what. Instead of the benefits of a criminal, with prostitution a legal business, prostitutes can have all the benefits of a working citizen. Unions would probably be the best enforcer of the industry. They would help ensure that under the table prostitution would stay off the streets, including child prostitution. Third, the physical health of prostitutes and their clients would be at a much smaller risk if prostitution was legal. Physical injuries would be almost non-existent, with body guards watching over the prostitutes. To stop these body guards of doing what they wanted they would be employed by the owner of the business instead of the prostitute themselves. So instead of the prostitute giving the orders the body guard, his job would be to prevent physical injuries to the prostitute. If he violated that basic principle he would be fired. A safe place for prostitutes would be provided, no more dark allies or behind the dumpster. Security cameras in the room could be a possibility as well. With all these steps taken to prevent harm to the prostitutes, most people wouldn’t even consider doing anything to harm them because the repercussions it could have on them. Also a brothel might consider having employee health care, something that would be impossible for illegal prostitutes. Forth, the protection against STD’s would be extremely high with government regulations in play. Clients could be forced to wear condoms when they are with the
