Heredity is properly defined as being the “sum of the characteristics and potentialities genetically derived from one’s ancestors” (Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 2011). The endocrine system according to researches enables the person body to produces hormones from within the body. The thyroid gland releases a substance known as thyroxin. The parathyroid glands, also produces a substance called parathormone. The main function of the thyroid gland and the parathyroid gland is to regulate the body’s metabolism and calcium balance within the blood. A person behavior will change if the thyroid gland is not functioning properly. An under-active thyroid could contribute to several issues such as weight gain and fatigue. These two factors along can cause a change in behavior along. Therefore, because of these two factors, its shows that this change was due to hormones imbalance and not cause by an inherited gene.
