Why do I desire to become a general surgeon? The real question is why wouldn’t I want to become a general surgeon? I would enjoy the operating room, I would find the cases interesting, and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I feel like there’s something unique about surgery that is almost indescribable. Being a surgeon is unlike any other career; I get to operate on people. I improve and sometimes I even save their lives. There is also a unique bond between the patient and I, being that we as surgeons have the responsibility of someone’s life in our hands. The complications are real, but the outcome and satisfaction is exponential. Medicine is constantly expanding. Therefore, we must dedicate our lives to studying and learning so that our patients get the best possible care. Some people consider lifestyle deciding what specialty to choose. I pick this lifestyle of a general surgeon; operating, constantly improving my skills and giving my patients the opportunity for a better life.
Doctors and specialists have requesting instruction and preparing necessities. All doctors complete no less than four years of undergraduate school.
