As I look back on this class, I realize that it may have been one of the most influential and important classes of the semester. Not only did I learn a lot about how to be a successful teacher, but I also learned a lot about myself, and I made many friends. I needed this course this semester. I was starting to feel like I was missing out on friendships in college, but after this class I know that I have many friends and I made three close friends. This class was also important to me because I was starting to question if I was wasting my time becoming a teacher. Many individuals in my life have told me that I am too smart to be a teacher, and I was beginning to wonder if they were right. However, after this class I realized that teaching is something I am passionate about and something that I am good at. It is something that is important to me and is important to children and the future of our nation.

Community vs. Classroom The community that we formed as a class was a unique experience to be a part of. In college and even in high school, it is rare to form a relationship with more than a few people. However, by the end of the semester I knew everyone’s name and I felt like I actually knew them at least a little bit as a person. I think that a community style classroom is one of the best ways to teach, and I have developed this opinion over the past semester because I used to think that there was no order or control in these types of classrooms.
