Out of all the superpowers that have been conceived, I would want the ability to manipulate the minds of others. There are so many superpowers that I believe are interesting and unique, but manipulating minds really stood out to me. The biggest attraction towards this superpower is the non-violent aspect of it. Though on the surface it’s a nonviolent superpower, manipulating minds potentially could cause a lot of anguish and despair if used incorrectly. However, the ability has ways of helping in more ways than one, moral or not. As I was exploring the superpower of manipulating minds and what it has to offer, Professor X came into mind. Professor X is a character from X-Men, the comic book series. He’s one of the universe’s most powerful telepaths, who has the ability to read minds and project his own thoughts into the minds of others within a radius of approximately 250 miles. He can manipulate one’s mind by making himself seem invisible or project illusions to mislead or guide a person. Professor X’s powers are really fascinating, and reading about them made me want to make this my own superpower. The thing that appeals to me the most about this power is its nonviolent approach and its potential lethality. There are drawbacks to this power, such as lacking in the physical strength category, but everything starts mentally, which I would have the ability to control.
