Introduction: The legal drinking age in America is 21, in the past it differed by state, ranging from 18, 19 to 20. Through the years, it has changed and after the Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 where it went from 18 to 21 and stayed there. Throughout the years it has gone back and forth with discussion.

Thesis: Should the drinking age be lowered back to 18 is a question that has been asked countless times. The thinking for many is if you are old enough to go to war, vote get married, and take out loans then you are old enough to buy a beer. Alcohol has always been an issue in the United States such as in the 1920s where alcohol was made illegal

Body Paragraphs: Alcohol has been part of human history for the longest time there have been a few instances where this freedom has been corrupted. It was when alcohol became outlawed all over the United States during the 1920s called probation. Alcohol became a black market item such as drugs now a days. Let us just say it did not go over well with the citizens. But as with everything there are always two sides to every story.
