Through experiences, both in and out of school, I am confident in my ability to write at the college level. Writing is not the easiest thing in the world, although I suppose it is easier for others, but through challenging curriculum and assignments that really makes one think, my skills have been honed for what is ahead. I have had the privilege of being taught by amazing teachers with whom I have read a plethora of classics. However, they taught me more than just classics. They taught me to be passionate about whatever I may write about, no matter the subject. It is through their passion for what they taught, how they taught it, and how they wrote that my writing ability is where it is today.

My high school experience with writing began with my freshman English teacher, Ms. Yak. As a freshman, I was completely new to high school and did not know what to expect. At the risk of sounding boastful, I have always done well in school and although writing may not always be easy, I frequently ran into A 's for my essays and other projects that required my writing. However, I had not had the greatest experience with English teachers prior to high school so my writing self esteem was dismal at best. It was through Ms. Yak that the real world of writing was opened up to me. We, of course, started off with the basics of writing such as sentence structure and how many sentences a paragraph consists of.
