The oldest living relative in my family is my Grandmother Lou on my mother’s side. All of my other grandparents on my mother and father’s side have passed on. I called my Grandma Lou and asked her about my ancestors. She proceeded to tell me about how we have a book that goes way back and traces our ancestors but, sometime admit the chaos of life, it has been misplaced. My Grandma Lou said she would tell me the most she can remember about my ancestors and hopefully that will do. He was french man who was on the Baker side of my family, which is my great-grandmothers side. He went to Russia with Napoleons army with his four brothers to fight. All of his brothers were killed except for him when he returned he decided to come to the United States. He decided to come to the United States because he was so disgusted that his brothers were killed and wanted to live out a better life, this was around 1820. She said that she is pretty sure he settled in Pennsylvania and made a living as a farmer. That is about all that my Grandma Lou knows off the top of her head about how her ancestors go to the United States. She told me that she would keep looking for the book that is a lot more detailed and let me know if she finds it. I asked my Grandma Lou how her family got to Chicago from Pennsylvania and she said it was because of her father. My great grandfather was in World War I and he got malaria and the flu and only by a miracle did he survive. She said that when he came back he…
