Jack the Ripper: Case Solved? Jack the Ripper was one of the first documented serial killers in history. While there has been a lot of controversy about the killer, the identity of Jack the Ripper is still a mystery. The Whitechapel police believed that the killer was a Jewish man with hatred towards women. Aaron Kosminski was Jewish, had spent time in a mental hospital, and was known for his loathing of women. Even though there are many suspects that people believe could be Jack the Ripper, it can be proven that Aaron Kosminski is the killer, Jack the Ripper.
Jack the Ripper stole the lives of five women prostitutes, nonetheless there are rumors of five to six more. The identity of Jack the Ripper is unknown, but there have been over one hundred suspects throughout the years. His killing spree was in the late 1800s, beginning on August 31, 1888 with the death of Mary Anne Nichols. Other victims were Annie Chapman on September 8, 1888, Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes on September 30, and Mary Kelly on November 9, 1888 (“Welcome”). Jack the Ripper’s murder weapon is a large knife but cannot be further narrowed down. These gruesome homicides took place in Whitechapel, London, England. Some people believe that Jack the Ripper is Dr. Thomas Neill Cream. This is inaccurate because during the murders Dr. Cream was serving time in prison in Chicago (“Jack the Ripper”). H. H.
