Equal Opportunity For All
Like many other social problems, Gender Equality happens across the board in American society. This is issue is known to have a negative impact in America. Gender equality is “achieved when women and men enjoy the same rights and opportunities across all sectors of society, including economic participation and decision-making, and when the different behaviours, aspirations and needs of women and men are equally valued and favoured” (Gender Equality: What is Gender Equality?). Gender equality is almost ubiquitous in the way that is exists, and can be seen in many aspects of life. Some acts or differences may be subtle, while others may be more pronounced. A few common places that such equality exists are at home and at the workplace. Other places can include academia. Non-tangible inequality can bee seen in such things as wage earnings, as well as the amount of professionals in management positions with an industry.
Women’s Rights
Women in the late 19th century fought to end gender inequality. Women, till this day, are still looked down upon by their male counterparts in many different social, economic and professional settings. Many believe that women should not be in high powered positions. For men in positions of power or authority believe in the notion that women cannot work under pressure.
