Discipleship : The Teachings Of A Teacher Learner Or A Philosopher
Discipleship is the devotion to the teachings of a teacher learner or a philosopher. In a Christian sense this is devoting ourselves to being more Christ like and learning his word, but is also the going out and disciplining to younger Christians and helping them on their walk. The idea of discipleship started with Jesus when he picked twelve men to be his disciples he taught them and had them help in his ministry and eventually set them a mandate to go out and make disciples of all nations and baptising people in in his name.

My previous understanding of discipleship was that it was basically just mentoring, that it was just learning and being mentored by one person who had a greater understanding of Christ and the bible. I had never really put a lot of thought in to the actual process that discipleship involves

There are a number of time in the bible where it talks of people having disciples some of these include Moses and John the baptise, but the main idea of discipleship comes Jesus and the twelve disciples.
