The study of psychology involves studying the mind and behaviour of people. Researchers test individuals based on questions they have about why people behave and think the way the do. Part of this, is how the brain works together to perform these day-to-day actions. However, there are many situations that challenge the performance of actions. A common challenge that occurs in middle ages people is the Alzheimer’s Disease. The Alzheimer 's Disease is a serious condition that affects the loss of brain cell connections that connect short-term memories that are needed to form long-term memories. While studying the Alzheimer’s Disease, one will see that within an individual 's brain there are many parts that are affected by the disease. It is an important to understand how these different parts relate to one another for people who have the Alzheimer’s Disease. Such parts that are affected the most by the Alzheimer’s Disease are the temporal lobe, parietal lobe, frontal cortex, cingulate gyrus, and the hippocampus. With this decline of these generalized parts of the brain, it is important that the Alzheimer’s Disease is caught in it’s early stages, so that doctors can prescribe medication that will lessen the symptom of memory loss and increase the lifespan of these people.
